ABOUT US
Marblehead Dollars for Scholars, Inc. is a private, non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to providing need-based financial aid to students who have graduated from Marblehead High School and/or who live in town. Marblehead Dollars for Scholars is a chapter of Dollars for Scholars, a program of Scholarship America.
Marblehead Dollars for Scholars was founded in 1987 by a group of concerned citizens and members of the Marblehead High School faculty and administration. The essential motivating factor was the limited availability of scholarship funding for students within the local community.
Marblehead Dollars for Scholars purpose is to raise scholarship funds through annual giving and the establishment and maintenance of a permanent endowment. Award selection is accomplished through an Awards Committee comprised of members of our Board of Directors and coordinated with the High School awards process. Scholarship grants range from $1,500 to $5,000 and are awarded to high school seniors, advanced standing students (rising college sophomores, juniors and seniors) and continuing education candidates. Marblehead Dollars for Scholars also administers scholarships on behalf of other organizations and funds. The award history is as follows:
